About the Game
Conversion Station challenges Year 5 students to instantly recognise equivalent decimals and fractions. Speed and accuracy are key as you process passenger tickets on the busy Platform 5.
🎓 Curriculum Objectives
- Read and write decimal numbers as fractions (e.g. 0.71 = 71/100).
- Solve problems which require knowing percentage and decimal equivalents of 1/2, 1/4, 1/5, 2/5, 4/5 and fractions with a denominator of a multiple of 10 or 25.
🎮 How to Play
- Wait for the Train: Watch the doors open to reveal a passenger's ticket.
- Read the Ticket: It will show either a decimal (e.g., 0.5) or a fraction (e.g., 1/2).
- Convert It: Enter the equivalent value in the input field.
- If shown 0.25, type equivalent fraction 1/4.
- If shown 3/4, type equivalent decimal 0.75.
- Stamp It: Click "STAMP TICKET" to validate and earn points!
