Robot Repair: Steam Sums
Master Number Bonds to Fix the Automaton
The Workshop needs you! In Robot Repair, you play as a master mechanic in a steampunk world. The giant steam-powered robot is overheating, and only perfect mathematical precision will stabilize its pressure gauge.
This game focuses on Number Bonds—finding the missing piece to complete a target number (like 10 or 20).
⚙️ Why Number Bonds?
Number bonds (or "pairs") are the building blocks of mental maths. Knowing that 7 + 3 = 10 instantly helps children later when calculating 70 + 30 or 17 + 3.
- Bonds to 10: The foundation (e.g., 6 + 4, 2 + 8).
- Bonds to 20: The next step (e.g., 15 + 5, 12 + 8).

👨👩👧 Mechanic's Manual (Tips)
Help your child visualize the bonds:
- "If you have 10 fingers and hold up 3, how many are down? (7)"
- "The robot has 6... how many more to reach 10?"
